Let’s start with who you are privately, what do you do for a living?
I am first and foremost a husband and father! My greatest passion is ultra mountain running. I document my achievements on Instagram (@ultraviking_1976).

So why the interest in Norse mythology?
My equine is the early medieval period. The plot of my favorite books and movies often takes place in these realities. I’m particularly fond of Norse legends; I think I was a Viking in a previous incarnation!

How did you manage to fulfill your dreams? Is it a challenge to get on the set of a big Netflix hit?
I fell in love with “Vikings” from the first episode. My wife found the casting announcement and persuaded me to participate! After just 3 months, I was looking forward to the first taping in Dublin.

What is a day like on the set of the series “Vikings”?
It was pure pleasure! The day started around 8 am. A quick breakfast, a long make-up and a ride to the set. There the fun began and continued until everyone was satisfied with the results.

Did you talk to the characters in the series? Who made the biggest impression on you?
I am a lucky man – I managed to talk to everyone! What’s more, I had the opportunity to drink wine from a horn in the company of Ragnar Lodbrok! I also met Laghertha – no legend captures her beauty!

The character of Ragnar Lodbrok exerts an aura of mystery and power on viewers. Was the same felt on the set, or was he a completely different person to his co-workers?

Travis Fimmel is a great guy! Above all, he is always a smiling man with a good heart, from whom beams positive energy. I think he was a perfect fit for the role of Ragnar Lodbrok. I can’t imagine that someone could replace him.

What event from the set of the “Vikings” series do you remember best?
Once I met Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) near the toilets. Despite the poor scenery, I decided to ask for a photo together. By the time she took off her hood, I had already taken a series of funny pictures. In the meantime, Torvi appeared and the three of us made silly faces for the camera.

Do you keep in touch with the people you met during the making of the series?
On the set of “Vikings” there were a whole bunch of people from different parts of the world. They were all fantastic, and I was able to develop a camaraderie with several of them. We keep in touch through social media, and I’m sure the shared memories will stay with us forever!

Which of the characters of the “Vikings” series was the most interesting in your opinion?

Without a doubt it was Ragnar Lodbrok! I definitely identify with this character, because we have similar characters and share the same values. The most important things in life are love, friendship, loyalty and courage. This attitude allowed Ragnar to become the greatest legend of all Scandinavia.

What experience gained on set do you value the most?

The most valuable lesson, and also the biggest surprise, turned out to be the first contact with established actors who played leading roles. At first I approached them with detachment, not knowing what kind of reaction I could expect. However, it quickly turned out that they were just as friendly, open-minded people as the rest of the people working on the set of “Vikings.” They acted completely naturally and joked with us, which made us even happier with the work we were doing.

How did your adventure with the series end?

After season 6 of the series “Vikings” I decided to return to Poland. It was an invaluable adventure and I am glad that I could take part in it. However, I believe that our paths will cross again!

The Vikings series spread the theme of medieval Scandinavia and became an inspiration for future productions. Have you thought about taking part in a similar project again?

Historical films are one of the things that give me great pleasure. In Poland, I had the opportunity to play in the series “The Crown of the Kings” several times. If the chance to participate in another project comes up, I will certainly consider it!
